We've teamed up with Sympatex to revamp our waterproof liner, providing you with the best waterproofing on the market.

In contrast to other membrane technologies, our membrane works via a physicochemical principle. Water vapor molecules are transported to the outside along so-called hydrophilic molecular chains. A partial pressure gradient, generated by different temperature and humidity levels inside and outside, is the driving force for the water vapour transport through the membrane. The molecular structure (hydrophilic components) of our membrane swells with increasing humidity and thus dynamically provides more or less space for water vapor transport.

In contrast to the other membrane technologies, the poreless compact Sympatex membrane is based on a physical and chemical principle. The water-attracting (hydrophilic) part of the membrane absorbs the moisture from the body and emits it to the outside by evaporation. The water vapor molecules are transported ourwards along the hydrophilic molecular chains. The molecular structure (hydrophilic components) of the Sympatex membrane swells in moisture and therefore provides space for water vapor transport and fast evaporation.

From the Membrane To the Product

The membrane is bonded to polyester facing and lining fabrics to form a laminate. Bonding to a variety of carrier materials is possible for the application of the membrane on different products. Only the use of a tape matched to the laminate makes the end product waterproof and a performance funcional textile.
